Greenway Cinemagraphs

19, Jun, 2014 Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and the cameras are snapping! The Greenway is such a spectacular place for creative inspiration – evident by all your amazing Instagram photos! With the Greenway’s colorful flowers, contrasting shadows and sunlight, and juxtaposing city and landscapes, there’s plenty of perspectives to explore. I tried out a new form with a few Cinemagraphs, hybrids of still photography and subtle motion, made famous by photographers Jamie Beck and Kevin Berg.

If you’re interested in making your own, I found this tutorial pretty helpful. AND, if you’re interested in upcoming projects on the Greenway, come join our Volunteer Creative Team! We’re in the process of looking for folks interested in photo, video, audio, and blogging, so if the summer weather gets your creative wheels turning as much as mine, send me an email!

See you on the Greenway!
