Bundle Up and Come Out to The Greenway!
Winter – when most Bostonians are thinking of huddling up for the cooler season, enjoying their favorite warm beverage, finding a cozy fire, and staying indoors, here at The Greenway we think it’s a great season for getting out in the park! It may be colder, but that doesn’t stop us from having plenty of events and programs to enjoy.
Caroling
The winter months bring our winter lights display, Hatchlings, to The Greenway, and traveling between the illuminated parts of the park are our holiday carolers. In collaboration with the North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) and Faneuil Hall Marketplace, we’re bringing your favorite holiday tunes to the park to make your day a bit brighter. See them during these times:
- December 14 at 5pm starting at the Greenway Carousel
- December 16 at 1pm starting at the Greenway Carousel
Additional performances and dates will also be added from January through March 2024. Keep an eye on our calendar for more dates!
Market Pop-Up
Swing by the Little Wellness Wagon this holiday season as it pops up in the North End Park from December 7-10 and Dewey Square from December 11-15! This cozy trailer brings together the therapeutic and healing collections of two women-owned businesses, Tasteful Skin and Hedge & Hedge, along with a selection of goods crafted by local makers and specialists, including skincare products and candles. It’s your one-stop-shop for self-care and well-being. Don’t miss out!
Last Call for the Carousel!
The Greenway Carousel is still open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays throughout December, so make sure to take your last spin on it for the year! It will close down the first week in January. If you’re looking for holiday gift ideas, you can also purchase our Carousel coloring book and bring your favorite carousel creature home with you.
Ice Sculptures
While you’re in the area, keep an eye out for ice sculptures as part of the 2023 New Year’s Eve Waterfront Ice Sculpture Stroll. Come take a spin and join us at the Greenway Carousel, as we feature a ten foot ice sculpture of one of our native New England creatures, the Peregrine Falcon!
Something special is coming soon…
If you’re looking for a way to warm up during the colder weather, look out for our new Sauna Village by Moki Sauna. Located across from Rowes Wharf Plaza and the Boston Harbor Hotel, this will be a great place to take respite from chilly temperatures as you’re exploring the park.
