Visit
Here you can explore family-friendly destinations and programming designed to delight, engage, and inspire along Boston’s iconic Rose Kennedy Greenway.
Stretching from the vibrant streets of Chinatown to the historic charm of the North and West End neighborhoods, The Greenway is more than just a park — it’s an ever-changing green space in the heart of Boston. And now, with The Playway, families can explore this urban oasis through a fresh lens of fun, creativity, and connection.
Whether you’re enjoying plants offering beautiful winter interest in our gardens, pausing to admire winter lights, discovering the newest public art installation, or grabbing a bite from a favorite local food truck, The Playway maps out joyful moments for kids and grown-ups alike. Many experiences even offer free or discounted tickets through EBT, Wonderfund, and the Boston Public Library’s Cultural Pass Program. Each stop features opportunities to spark imagination, movement, and shared adventure in and around downtown Boston. A visit to The Greenway allows guests to participate in hundreds of free, community-driven events and programs hosted in the park each year. The park is also home to six water features (activated in the warm-weather months) and a rotating selection of temporary public art, including murals, sculptures, and other installations.
- Playway maps are available at the Greenway Carousel ticket booth through the month of February – while supplies last.
